This is an example brief. Its company, dates, budget, assignment and progress illustrate a project; they do not represent available or commissioned work. Proposals cannot be submitted.
The brief
Our team inspects three closely related aluminium housings on the same bench. We want to replace separate locating blocks with a common base and interchangeable nests. The work covers two concept sketches, one selected CAD assembly and a drawing pack of up to eight manufactured parts. Include one concept review and one drawing review. Prototype manufacture, measuring equipment and on-site installation sit outside this design package.
A running start
Compare two concepts against the six inspection datums and agree the common-base layout.
Model all three nests, check tool access and complete the eight-part drawing package.
Close the agreed review comments and confirm that the assembly, drawings and parts list use matching revisions.
To agree before starting
Confirm the deliverables, review checks and response window together so everyone knows what a successful handover looks like.
Record the requested change, its reason and its effect on deliverables, budget and timing. Both parties agree the revised scope in writing before the additional work begins.
