Privacy
Your information.
A clear explanation.
This notice covers the website, project planner and engineer application process, including private video review, one-time engineer activation payment and publication of activated profiles. Hiring and project payments remain separate services.
Who is responsible?
Nexos B.V. operates Your Engineer and is responsible for how personal information is used through this website. Our business address is Aldenhaagstraat 18, 6825 CT Arnhem, Netherlands. Our KVK number is 42156030 and our VAT identification number is NL869960994B01. You can contact us at info@nexos-compliance.com. See our company information.
Your engineer application
When you apply, we process your email address, account details and the professional profile you submit. Your profile includes your name, expertise, location, languages, availability, experience and rate. We use these details to provide the application and profile service you request. Your account uses essential sign-in cookies so we can keep your application private and recognize your signed-in session.
We use Supabase with Resend to send account confirmation and password-recovery emails. To deliver those messages, these services process your email address, message content and delivery information. Resend describes its processing of email data in its Data Processing Addendum.
We also ask for a short video in which you state your name and a fresh on-screen phrase. The video is uploaded to private storage for a human reviewer to assess whether the application appears to come from a person presenting their own profile. The purpose is to reduce impersonation and automated false applications. Our basis for this security review is our legitimate interest in protecting applicants and the platform against misuse. If recording is not accessible to you, contact us to discuss another human review method; your profile remains private until human approval and confirmed activation payment.
The video contains your image and voice. Please record only yourself, without identity documents, other people, confidential project material or sensitive personal information in the background. Your Engineer does not use this workflow to create a biometric face template, perform automated facial recognition or make an automated decision about your identity.
The video and review notes are private. Access through the application is limited to your account and authorized review personnel; they are not part of your public engineer profile. The website uses playback links that expire after one minute. Authorized users can also access the file through the storage service and create longer-lived links or copies. Withdrawal blocks new access, but cannot recall every existing link or copy immediately. We instruct reviewers not to download, copy or share videos.
Human video review can miss impersonation or manipulated recordings. Approval means the submitted application passed this review; it is not certification of legal identity, qualifications or professional competence. The five-hour review deadline is a human service commitment, and elapsed time never publishes a profile automatically.
Activation payments and fee credit
After human approval, the one-time activation payment is handled through Stripe checkout. Stripe processes the payment and billing information you provide, including information needed to calculate applicable tax. Its privacy policy explains how it handles transaction information, security checks and international data transfers.
Your Engineer keeps the provider references, confirmed payment status and credit records needed to activate your profile and account for your platform fee credit. Credit records include the amount granted, amounts reserved or used, and the conversion fixed at payment. We do not store your full card number or card security code. We use these records to provide the activation and credit service you request and retain financial records where a legal obligation requires it.
A payment does not make your private video or full name public. Publication still requires human approval. Withdrawal removes the profile from our public directory; it does not automatically erase payment or credit records.
What becomes public
Your submitted professional profile becomes public only after human approval and confirmation of the one-time activation payment. An approved but unpaid profile remains private. Public names use your first name and a surname initial. Other approved profile details, including location, skills, availability and rate, can be read and indexed by visitors and search engines. Your account email, verification video, challenge phrase and private review notes are not included.
You can withdraw your application or approved profile from the application page. Withdrawal removes it from our public profile results and blocks new access to its video. Search engines or other people may retain copies of information that was already public.
Storage, retention and deletion
Daily provides the connection for private project video calls and introduction videos. When you turn on your camera or microphone, live video or audio and technical connection information are sent to Daily. Your Engineer does not record project video calls. Introduction recording starts only when you select Start recording. Daily temporarily records the introduction in its cloud; we copy the completed recording to private Supabase storage and request deletion of the Daily copy. Deletion can remain pending if processing or a provider request fails. Daily explains its service data processing in its data protection information.
Supabase provides authentication, database and private video storage for this service. The project is configured in Ireland. This regional setting does not mean every support, security or subprocessor activity takes place only in Ireland. Supabase describes its processing and transfer safeguards in its Data Processing Addendum and data residency information.
We stop authorizing new video access 30 days after an approval, request for changes or rejection. Videos then become eligible for deletion when an authorized cleanup run takes place. Previously issued links or downloaded copies may remain usable. This is a manual operational process, so the access cutoff is not a promise that every stored copy is physically erased at that moment. An approved public profile and its decision record can remain after its video is deleted.
A withdrawn video is queued for deletion from active storage immediately. Deletion is retried where needed, including after an outstanding upload permission expires; the profile is not restored while deletion is pending. Withdrawal does not itself delete your sign-in account or every decision and security record. We keep application and decision records for as long as needed to provide the service, resolve a review question or meet a specific legal requirement.
For deletion of your account or remaining records, email info@nexos-compliance.com. We assess which records can be erased and which must be retained for a specific legal obligation or legal claim, and explain any applicable limits. Backup and provider-log retention follow the relevant provider arrangements; this page does not promise instant erasure from every backup.
Your project brief
The planner keeps your notes in the memory of the open page. It does not send them to Your Engineer, save them to an account or store them in cookies or browser storage. Refreshing or leaving the page clears those notes.
A download creates a text file on your device. You control how long you keep that file and whether you share it. Avoid entering confidential information or personal details about other people.
Visiting this website
Netlify hosts the website and processes technical request information, such as IP addresses, requested URLs, browser information and request times. This supports delivering the pages, diagnosing faults and protecting the service against misuse. Our basis for this processing is our legitimate interest in providing a working, secure website.
Technical logs are handled within Netlify’s hosting and security services. The available history and retention depend on the service and its configuration. We use technical information for operating and protecting the website, not to make decisions about your engineering qualifications or suitability for work.
Netlify may process information outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Its Data Processing Agreement describes the applicable transfer safeguards, including the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses where applicable.
When you contact us
If you email us, we receive your email address and the information you choose to include. We and our email hosting provider, TransIP, process that information so we can understand and respond to your question, based on our legitimate interest in handling enquiries about Your Engineer. You do not need to send us personal information to use the project planner. To reply to an email enquiry, we need a return address and enough information to understand your question.
We keep enquiry correspondence for as long as needed to handle your question and necessary follow-up. We retain it longer only where a legal obligation or a specific need to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim requires it. Please do not send passwords, identity documents or confidential project files.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us for access to your personal information, correction, deletion or restriction of its use. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests and request portability where that right applies. Email info@nexos-compliance.com and describe your request; do not attach an identity document unless we have agreed a necessary, secure verification method.
You may also complain to the Dutch Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens or your local data protection authority. These rights are subject to the circumstances and applicable law.
As the platform develops
We will update this notice when the purposes, information collected or services change. Hiring and project payment services will need their own information about how they handle data before they open.
