Energy & process engineering
Build an energy baseline for a batch dryer
Brisbane, Australia · Remote · 3 weeks
Turn twelve batch records into a transparent energy-per-batch baseline for a food-ingredient dryer.
Model two wash-line heat-recovery options using four weeks of operating data and a transparent energy balance.

This is an example brief. Its company, dates, budget, assignment and progress illustrate a project; they do not represent available or commissioned work. Proposals cannot be submitted.
The brief
Our wash line heats incoming water while a separate stream leaves the process warm. We want to understand whether their timing and temperature levels make heat recovery worth investigating. The package covers a data-quality review, one baseline balance and two exchanger arrangements under three operating schedules. Include two review meetings. Equipment procurement, detailed exchanger design and guaranteed savings are outside scope; measurement gaps must remain visible in the conclusion.
A running start
Check timestamps and units, close the energy balance as far as the inputs allow and record remaining uncertainty.
Model both arrangements for each schedule and show how the result changes with the three sensitivity inputs.
Review the workbook and prioritise the information needed before a detailed equipment study.
To agree before starting
Confirm the deliverables, review checks and response window together so everyone knows what a successful handover looks like.
Record the requested change, its reason and its effect on deliverables, budget and timing. Both parties agree the revised scope in writing before the additional work begins.
